Finances

WPF’s funding comes from a limited number of large donors such as the Dutch government, and private American foundations. WPF is also aiming to acquire at least 50% of its funds from sources within the EU.

Since 2002 WPF is beneficiary of the Dutch Postcode Lottery. Until 2009 WPF received 0.5 million euro annually, however, as of 2010 the annual amount WPF receives is doubled to 1 million euro. In 2005 WPF received over 800,000 euro to expand the project 'Let's talk about sex', a project on sexuality education in Uganda, to Indonesia, Thailand and Kenya.

Furthermore WPF can count on a relatively small but loyal group of private donors.

Since 2000 WPF has held the CBF quality hallmark (Central Bureau for Fundraising) and at the end of 2005 notification was received that the hallmark will be extended up to and including 2010.
