Partner organisations
WPF does not directly implement projects but works through local partner organisations.
WPF strives to build-up the capacity of local partner organisations to successfully implement interventions designed to empower underserved groups with respect to sexual and reproductive health and rights.
To strengthen local organisations and ensure quality sustainability, WPF plays a facilitating role, organises training, technical support, supervision and coaching activities and provides tools to build-up technical standards and ensure quality.
WPF ensures that local partner organisations are actively involved and take lead roles in strategising, planning, and managing program activities. Special emphasis is given to training and improving the skills of the local project staff to:
- effectively and efficiently manage projects/interventions (this includes basic sexual and reproductive health and rights training in order to create a shared vision and understanding of the subject, project cycle management (PCM) related training and WPF’s preferred methodology to systematically develop project interventions: intervention mapping -IM).
- independently develop and implement effective interventions (best practices) and encompasses support in the development or adaptation of interventions for the specific local context and conduct the necessary training to develop the expertise of the local partner(s) to take over the sustainable implementation of the programme after WPF has gradually phased-out.
