Interested in Collaboration?
Please bear in mind that WPF is not a funding organisation. Nevertheless WPF may be interested to collaborate with your organisation.
Partnerships
The project department of WPF prefers to develop partnerships with NGOs or other (governmental) institutions already involved in sexual and reproductive health.
Priority is given to those organisations that have a particular interest in the advancement of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (rights-based approach), adolescents/youth, behavioural change communication (BCC), advocacy and sexual and reproductive health service delivery - family planning and STDs/HIV-AIDS included.
Countries
Preferred partners are registered in countries where WPF has already established a presence (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa, Pakistan, Indonesia Thailand and Vietnam).
However, consideration is also given to other countries if there is a potential for scaling-up of successful WPF interventions (best practices).
Track record
A proven track record, institutional sustainability (i.e. leadership, dedication and community involvement) and an organisational capacity to undertake activities and administer funds are the main criteria for selecting local partner organisations. Also the prospects for a longer-term partnership is a consideration.
Programme areas
Specific collaborative projects should address well-documented needs of the communities in the following programme areas:
1. adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (ASRH&R), including;
- comprehensive sexuality education
- interactive theatre and dance
- peer education and youth participation
2. gender based violence (GBV);
3. access to specific Sexual and Reproductive Health services (f.e. safe motherhood including safe abortion);
4. mainstreaming of SRH&R in poverty reduction efforts or strategies of organisations working on other development areas.
